Ricoh awarded Silver Class recognition in sustainability ratings by RobecoSAM for two years in a row

RobecoSAM, a Swiss company and one of the world’s leaders in socially responsible investment (SRI) assessments, selected Ricoh for its Silver Class sustainability rating.   RobecoSAM annually assesses about 3 000 major companies worldwide, based on economy, environment, and society, then announces companies recognised for outstanding effort in sustainability through Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories, in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices.
“Ricoh got the highest Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics industry category ratings for innovation management and privacy protection as part of the economic dimension,” says Jacques van Wyk, COO of Ricoh SA. “We also got the highest ratings for climate strategy and environmental policy or management system as part of the environmental dimension.”   The ratings announced in January 2016 and consisted of 77 Gold companies, 74 Silver companies and 97 Bronze companies.   Ricoh’s industry category, Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics, saw two companies selected for Gold, and five selected for Silver awards.   Ricoh has developed a new slogan aimed at encouraging all employees to make concerted efforts to enhance sustainability as expectations have increased in recent years for companies to contribute to building a sustainable society: “Driving Sustainability for Our Future.” Ricoh is inspired by this slogan to proactively improve its sustainability, thereby growing its businesses, boosting corporate value, and consistently meeting the expectations of all stakeholders.
