Andre Hagen

Director of Operations

Andre Hagen is Ricoh’s Director of Operations, responsible for ensuring strategic alignment across the company’s operational functions and providing a platform for smooth service delivery across the organisation.

Having joined Ricoh in 2020, Andre credits the recent consolidation of Ricoh’s offices, warehouses and supply chain warehouse to a state-of-the-art facility in Meadowview, Gauteng, a project that was his sole responsibility, as one of his career highlights to date. It has already delivered substantial cost savings for the company, optimising its processes to attain operational efficiencies in a single location, while reducing its environmental footprint and energy consumption using alternative energy.

Andre believes that working at a global organisation like Ricoh not only gives him an opportunity to reflect on what other international operations are doing to hit their targets from a performance and margin level, but also helps to bring this knowledge home in a South African market context. This alignment of local and international best practices maintains Ricoh’s market leadership in the solutions space.

A qualified chartered accountant, Andre left auditing and moved to commercial operations once he realised that his passion for business would only be found in a real live environment where he could make an active difference. He has since held various positions, from treasury to accounting and financial management roles, and also served a three-year period as Chief Financial Officer.

Having a financial background is the cornerstone of Andre’s operational responsibilities. It creates numerous synergies, providing him with a 360-degree view of the business that ensures every decision he makes takes financial aspects into account. It also allows him to work closely with Ricoh’s financial director, making decision-making and governance approvals more efficient.
