Ricoh recognised for climate action on CDP leaderboard

Ricoh has made the prestigious CDP2021 Supplier Engagement Rating Leaderboard for the second year running.

CDP, which is a global non-profit, provides a platform that scored over 6,000 companies worldwide based on environmental impacts, risks, and opportunities, encouraging governments and companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources, and protect forests.

“Being A-rated by CDP’s Annual Supplier Engagement, as one of the top 8% of the total companies assessed, demonstrates that we are achieving our ‘realisation of a zero-carbon society’”, says Jacques van Wyk, CEO of Ricoh South Africa.

Ricoh aims for zero GHG emissions across the entire value chain. It also aims to establish a zero-carbon society by providing highly energy-efficient products and solutions. It encourages partners to do likewise.

Ricoh supports suppliers to reduce CO2 activities, and its comprehensive information disclosures are internationally acclaimed.

“We are extremely proud of our unwavering commitment to achieving ESG targets and the role we play in helping suppliers to drive environmental responsibility within their operation,” says Mikako Suzuki, Corporate Officer and Head of ESG Strategy Division at Ricoh Company, Ltd. “Climate change is one of the most pressing social issues facing our global society. Ricoh has committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2050 and will continue to promote the realisation of a zero-carbon society through energy conservation activities, renewable energy, and active participation in international initiatives.”
