About The Ricoh Pumas
The Pumas Wheelchair Basketball team, established in 1982, competes in both the regional Northern Conference League, and the prestigious SuperSport Series. The Pumas headquarters are at the Gauteng North Sports Club for the Physically Disabled in Pretoria.
One of the club’s main priorities is a development programme for the Philadelphia and Shoshanguve Schools for the Disabled, with a membership of 48 players. This is aimed at school learners, and provides the club with future stars for the Pumas team.
Ricoh and the Ricoh Pumas
The Pumas Wheelchair Basketball team and Ricoh formalised their relationship on 20th May 2008 with the signing of a sponsorship contract that includes kit, branding, advertising and membership fees.
Ricoh staff have attended the Pumas’ games and been amazed at the courage and skill displayed by the athletes and the speed and excitement of the game.
