Ricoh sweeps three awards for IT training in Europe
London, 5 February 2010, Ricoh Europe PLC - In a prestigious evening ceremony on February 4th, The Institute of IT Training (IITT) recognised Ricoh, a leading global manufacturer of office and production printing solutions, with three awards and one nomination for demonstrating high standards and best practices in IT training. The IITT's IT Training Awards are presented annually and are established as the benchmark for excellence throughout the IT training industry.
Ricoh won three awards: Trainer of the Year, Training Department of the Year and Staff Development Programme of the Year. Ricoh also received a nomination for External Training Project of the Year. The awards are recognition of Ricoh's commitment to creating value for both its employees and customers by simplifying knowledge-intensive labour, and by encouraging knowledge sharing within the Ricoh Group.

The IITT, a UK-based IT professional standards body for IT and associated industries, hosts the IT Training Awards in the first Thursday of February each year at The Dorchester, Park Lane, London. Considered the annual highlight in the IT training professional's calendar, the Awards ceremony is a glittering occasion for attending industry representatives and their customers.
Ricoh Europe, Ricoh Netherlands and Ricoh Germany were shortlisted in following four training awards categories:
o Trainer of the Year - Winner: Mariel Blom, Ricoh Europe, Learning and Development
o This Award is presented to an employed individual who has shown exceptional instructional, assessment, development, and needs analysis skills for their employer. Following their evaluation of Mariel Blom from Ricoh Europe the assessing team concluded, “Mariel's engaging personality and flexible approach was empathetic and effective.”
o Training Department of the Year - Winner: Christian Janssens, Training Manager at Ricoh Netherlands
o For this category, the judges evaluate organisations within the private sector that demonstrate high quality and innovation - both in terms of content, client support and instructional techniques. Ricoh Netherlands' Training Department won the Gold Award for the implementation of full training contracts with the involvement of line management, and use of informal learning methods. The judges found clear evidence of the Ricoh's innovation and strong proposition in terms of IT training when compared to the other entries.
o Staff Development Programme of the Year - Winner: Ricoh Germany
o This Award is presented to an enterprise that has implemented a proactive staff development programme for their employees - whether to a target group or enterprise-wide - that can show demonstrable performance improvement for the organisation. Ricoh Germany was honoured with the Silver Award for training significant numbers of employees over a very short period of time with a real impact. The proactive staff development programme was driven by Knut Epple.
o External Training Project of the Year - This Award is presented to an IT training provider that has undertaken a major training project for a client that is innovative in concept and has produced demonstrable performance improvement for the client.
