In July 2009 NRG Gestetner South Africa became the newest subsidiary to undergo the name change to Ricoh South Africa. The name change will enhance consistency across the Group and raise brand awareness in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Ricoh South Africa (formerly NRG Gestetner South Africa) began operating in 1921, making it one of the country’s oldest office automation companies and is a wholly owned operating company within the Ricoh Group.

Today, Ricoh South Africa is a leading provider of document management solutions, providing cutting-edge hardware as well as software solutions.

Ricoh South Africa has an extensive network of dealers, sales consultants and service engineers who offer direct service and support throughout South Africa and neighboring countries.

With a staff complement of over 400, the company’s head office is located in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, with regional offices in the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Pretoria and the Vaal.

In 2008 NRG Gestetner South Africa brokered a partnership with a Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment partner, Bula Document Solutions. The partnership saw the creation of a Black Owned Enterprise, which has been awarded an initial level 4 by rating agency, Empowerdex.
